Bruno turned himself in to police earlier this week after officers issued a warrant for his arrest, the BBC reported. A teenage cousin of the married soccer star handed evidence over to police that implicated Bruno -- who maintains he has a "clear conscience." |

Huguely, 22, of Chevy Chase, Md., is in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, according to a statement from police.
According to police chief Tim Longo, Love was found in bed by a roommate at the apartment Love shared with two female friends about three blocks from the UVA campus. Once police found Love, "the obvious physical trauma to her" let them to start a murder investigation, Love said. Huguely was then found at his apartment, questioned and arrested by about 6 a.m., Longo said. In a statement, police also said that Love and Huguely had had a past relationship but have not released further details of the incident. "Police are treating the case as a homicide investigation at this time," the statement said. |

Edwin Valero, a former WBA super featherweight and WBC lightweight champion, was found dead in his jail cell on Monday hours after he was arrested for stabbing his wife to death, according to police in Venezuela. Valero’s death is being ruled a suicide. Venezuelan Federal Police Chief Wilmer Flores told reporters that Valero used his own clothes to hang himself from a bar in his cell early Monday morning. Valero was found by another inmate who alerted authorities in the police lockup in north-central Carabobo state in Venezuela, according to The Associated Press. He showed signs of life when he was taken down, but jail personnel were unable to revive him and he died around 1:30 a.m., according to Flores. |
