Just call Troy Polamalu the man with the million dollar hair. The long, flowing black hair that tumbles out of Polamalu's helmet and down his back -- it's nearly three feet long -- has been insured for $1 million by Head and Shoulders, the shampoo brand that is endorsed by the Pittsburgh Steelers safety. The insurance was obtained through Lloyd's of London, which did not reveal what must be done to Polamalu's hair for anyone to collect on the policy. |

Naked football player tased and arrested for trespassing An Oregon State football player won't be suiting up this fall. Although, that may be the way he prefers to play. Tyler Patrick Thomas, 19, was dismissed from the football team after he was arrested for trespassing in an area woman's home. Thing is, this wasn't your everyday trespass. Thomas was in the 32-year-old woman's house, naked, and in a three-point stance. You know, the one where football players spread their legs, bend over and place one hand on the ground before launching an opposition play? Um, yes, that one. As you probably guessed, Thomas was drunk when this all went down and the police were not impressed. This was not the Montana native's first alcohol-related offense (he was cited for underage possession last year), but this one certainly ended much worse. He's now facing charges for first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest. |

by Dan Fogarty | 9:43 am, August 20th, 2010 Antonio Cromartie claims that his infamous interview on Hard Knocks, you know, the one where he has trouble remembering the names of his kids because he has so many, was re-shot by the show’s director. Cromartie claims that on the first take, he had no trouble rattling off the names and ages of his eight children. But, according to Cromartie, he was asked to do it a second time by the director, because he didn’t pause enough between names. "Nah, I didn’t have trouble. I mean, they asked me to pause. I had nailed it the one time before, but they had to redo it and they just told me to pause between each one of [the names]." HBO’s spokesman, however, maintains that everything you see on Hard Knocks is factual. |

A friend told the 21-year-old Tuesday morning that the pictures were making the rounds on the internet. "I would like to apologize to everybody: Portland, the fans, the organization," Oden told reporters at the Blazers practice facility. "It was very embarrassing." |
| 2009-12-11 | The_Criminal | Big East | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | It must moving violation day her at the FCL. The off-field-humiliation is for actually being arrested for driving a MOPED without a license
USF's Ford arrested for driving (his moped) without license Driving infractions have caught up with USF running back Mike Ford again, as the junior was arrested on campus early Thursday morning and booked on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid license. According to USF police, Ford was stopped at 12:24 a.m. for riding a moped on the sidewalk on campus and did not have a driver's license with him. Ford had been cited by USF police in September for not having a license with him but was only given a citation; this time, he was arrested. The arrest report states that he was transported to jail "with no issues." He was released at 5:58 a.m. on $250 bond. USF is in the middle of final exams for the fall semester this week. "I'm disappointed he was driving his moped without a license. He should know better," USF coach Jim Leavitt said Thursday afternoon. |

The Volunteers’ fifth-season coach was caught on camera Thursday by WBIR-TV during a charity fundraising event describing the challenge of shaping a team of players from different backgrounds. "I’ve got a tough job," the Boston native said. "I’ve got to put these guys from different worlds together, right? I’ve got guys from Chicago, Detroit. I’m talking about the ’hood! | 2009-09-05 | The_Goons | Pac 10 | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | A day after Oregon college football season opened, it ended for running back LeGarrette Blount.
Blount was suspended for all remaining games on Friday for punching Boise State defensive end Byron Hout in the jaw following the 16th-ranked Ducks’ 19-8 loss to the 14th-ranked Broncos the night before. I am busting for the suspension, violence against fan for going after the Boise fans in a rage and off field humiliations for the sobbing. |
| 2009-08-28 | IrvinSucks | SEC | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | A minor league baseball team changed a Tim Tebow promotion after receiving a cease and desist e-mail from the University of Florida.
Fort Myers Miracle fans expected "What Would Tim Tebow Do?" night Wednesday, but the theme was changed to "What Would T.T. Do?" A ceremonial jump-pass started Wednesday's game against the St. Lucie Mets. Fans received promise rings and watched a character called "T.T." try to walk on water. The team also thought about including a mock circumcision among the activities but decided against it. "We bounced all kinds of ideas around when we thought of the promotion," Sharp told the newspaper. "But we wanted to keep it tasteful." |
| 2009-08-25 | IrvinSucks | Sun Belt | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | This is pretty funny ... new coach Isiah Thomas and the rest of his FIU athletic department have threatened to boycott the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament because they found out that they have to play UNC instead of Ohio State.
"We will not be bullied into a unilateral decision to play North Carolina after we already agreed to play Ohio State," Garcia said. I don't know if this is more of a humiliation for FIU or the community college known as Ohio State. |
| 2009-08-11 | The_Goons | Big East | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino told police he had sex and paid for an abortion for the woman accused of trying to extort him for $10 million, a newspaper reported Tuesday.
The Courier-Journal of Louisville reported on its Web site that Pitino told police he had been drinking in a Louisville restaurant and had sex with Karen Sypher in August 2003. The police report said he denied allegations by Sypher that he raped her after the restaurant closed and at another time somewhere else. He said later he gave her $3,000 for an abortion. Busting for the married Pitino's infidelity, crimes against nature for the abortion and wrong place at wrong time for being the victim of her extortion attempt. |

"HONOLULU (AP) â€" Hawaii coach Greg McMackin apologized Thursday for making a derogatory remark while describing Notre Dame’s chant during a dinner banquet leading up to last year’s Hawaii Bowl. McMackin used the homosexual slur during a media briefing at the Western Athletic Conference football preview in Salt Lake City. After the remark, he uttered it two more times while trying to explain himself. After the briefing, McMackin returned to the reporters and apologized for using the "inappropriate" word. ’What I was trying to do was be funny and it wasn’t funny," he said, according to a recording of the conversation posted on the Idaho Statesman’s website. | 2008-10-26 | IrvinSucks | Knicks | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | I'm busting Isiah, as I believe he still counts as a member of the Knicks per our rules.
He apparently OD'd on sleeping pills and was taken to the hospital. He then denied it was him, saying that it was actually his teenage daughter. The investigating police chief has refuted that story, saying that Isiah is "throwing her under the bus", and that his officers can tell the difference between a 47 year old male and a young female. |

| 2008-06-20 | IrvinSucks | ACC | Nuisance | Crime Link | 3 | A circuit court judge ruled that Duke football is so horrific that any replacement at all would suffice, such that Duke does not owe Louisville an alleged $450,000 for breaking their scheduling contract with 3 games reamining.
****** Duke’s lawyers argued the Blue Devils, which have a record of 6-45 over the past five seasons, were so bad that any team would be a suitable replacement. Judge Shepherd agreed in his summary: "At oral argument, Duke (with a candor perhaps more attributable to good legal strategy than to institutional modesty) persuasively asserted that this is a threshold that could not be any lower. Duke’s argument on this point cannot be reasonably disputed by Louisville." |
