2009-10-02The_GoonsRed SoxBig-TimeCrime Link7This is too good to not be on the docket. Ted Williams head is definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Red Sox Hall of Famer Ted Williams' severed head was mistreated at an Arizona cryonics facility, according to details from a new book.

In Frozen, Larry Johnson, a former executive at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation in Scottsdale, Ariz., writes that Williams' head, which had been severed and frozen for storage, was abused at the facility. Johnson claims a technician took baseball-like swings at Williams' frozen head with a monkey wrench.

Williams, the last player to hit over .400 in a season, died in 2002 at age 83 and had his remains sent to Alcor for cryogenic storage in the hope that future generations would develop the technology to revive him.

2008-05-06IrvinSucksACCBig-TimeCrime Link7The toxicology report came back on deceased Georgia Tech pitcher Michael Hutts, and he died of an overdose of an opium-derived narcotic. A friend known to use heroin visited his apartment the night he died, so that appears to be the culprit.

As such, I am busting this as using hard drugs and a serious wrong-place-wrong-time, as we do not have a crime for suicide (purposeful or accidental).
2008-03-29IrvinSucksACCBig-TimeCrime Link7On the same day he was named Georgia’s Mr. Basketball and 2 days after he played in the McDonald’s All-American game, Wake Forest commit Al-Farouq Aminu, the anchor of their #1-ranked recruiting class, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and trespassing after allegedly shooting a woman with a BB gun from a moving vehicle. I’m also busting a small-time wrong place wrong time, as that is the specific excuse given by a teammate in the article, which is classic. I too am usually in the wrong place at the wrong time when performing drive-bys with BB guns aimed at pedestrians.

Two Utah football players who got stabbed in a street corner fight after leaving a house party were in the wrong place at the wrong time, their coach said Monday.

"It appears that our players are on the road to recovery, and for that we are very grateful," Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said. "As for the incident on Saturday night, we have been in contact with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's department and were told that the investigation is in its preliminary stages."

The assailants haven't been identified, sheriff's Lt. Paul Jaroscak told The Associated Press on Monday.

"It appears to be a classic example of being in the wrong place at the wrong time," Whittingham said. "The investigation is ongoing and we're waiting to hear what they learn."

One of the defensive lineman, Paul Kruger, underwent surgery for stab wounds as sheriff's deputies determined the fight took place between the players and hecklers from a passing car.

2008-01-08IrvinSucksWill BynumBig-TimeCrime Link7Former Georgia Tech basketball player Will Bynum, now playing in Israel, was arrested for his involvement in a brawl at the Jerusalem nightclub "G-Spot", where he was celebrating his birthday (Assault & Battery). After being accosted by clubgoers inside, Bynum went outside to find his car windows smashed (WPWT). Bynum then hopped in his windowless ride and proceeded to run down the club DJ with his car. He then backed up and ran him over two more times (Attempted Murder). The DJ is in serious but stable condition. From some other articles, it looks like Bynum has been thrown in a Tel Aviv prison indefinitely, as they feel he is a threat to flee the country.

I’m adding some additional links to get more of the story coming out of Israel.
